Growth-hormone secretagogue · Fact sheet
GHRP-6
Also known as Growth hormone-releasing peptide-6
GHRP-6 can stimulate growth-hormone release in humans. That does not prove better muscle growth, recovery, or healthy aging, and FDA identifies glucose and hormone-related safety concerns.
What is GHRP-6?
GHRP-6 is a synthetic six-amino-acid growth-hormone secretagogue. Studies of hormone release and drug exposure are different from trials of strength or injury recovery.
Benefits people look for
Appetite, muscle gain, recovery, and hormone changes attract interest. A measured rise in growth hormone is not a substitute for a demonstrated improvement in how a person feels or functions.
What the evidence supports
- Human experiments show a growth-hormone response.
- A nine-person pharmacokinetic study measured how the compound behaved in the body, not whether it improved strength or recovery.
All research areas
- Growth-hormone secretion
- Human pharmacokinetics
Anecdotal reports & lived experiences
Reports describe what someone noticed. They cannot establish cause, typical results, or how often a side effect happens.
No attributable personal reports are summarized here yet. The benefits above describe research interests; the side effects below come from the cited medical sources.
We do not fill this gap with unsourced testimonials or estimated success rates.
Side effects & risks
- FDA identifies possible cortisol effects and impaired insulin sensitivity with higher glucose.
- Immune reactions and peptide impurities are additional concerns for certain routes.
This is a summary of the cited evidence, not a complete product label. A lack of human safety data does not establish safety.
Clinical research: how strong is it?
Early human evidenceSmall human studies establish pharmacologic activity and describe exposure. They do not establish broad performance or anti-aging benefits.
Selected research to read
Nine-person human exposure study; no recovery endpoint.
Hormone-response experiments across age and sex groups.
FDA approval & research status
GHRP-6 has no FDA-approved product. Human endocrine research and FDA compounding review do not constitute approval for muscle growth or recovery.
No FDA-approved use is documented in the records summarized on this page.
Human research without FDA approval
GHRP-6 has no FDA-approved product. Human endocrine research and FDA compounding review do not constitute approval for muscle growth or recovery.
This summarizes the cited product or research record. Trial phases do not establish successful completion of earlier stages, and a stopped program is not ongoing development. Approval applies only to the labeled product, use and population.
What we still don’t know
- Meaningful effects on strength or recovery
- Long-term glucose and endocrine effects
- Safety outside controlled research
The takeaway
GHRP-6 has human hormone data, but a favorable benefit-risk balance for consumer performance claims is not established.
